Chronological History of RavenBlack City
Following is a compilation of important people and events that
have drastically influenced the city and it residents.
It is my hope that this
history will help those new to the city understand the reasons behind many of
the
ongoing feuds and political indifferences that are still shaping the city.
Prehistory
BloodSpawn creates the heavens and the earth, according to him anyways…
2002
July - September
- RavenBlack begins siring new vampires. With the abundance of blood and room to claim dominion, the city’s vampiric population begins to grow rapidly, climbing into the thousands within the first few months.
October
- Capadocious arrives in the city.
November
- The kindred begin gathering into covens, the first of which is called “RavenBlack Blood”, founded by the vampire Mooncalf.
December
- Archangel is sired by nyarlathotep.
- The city doubles in size (50x50 to 100x100).
- The first clans come together, The Travellers (led by Mooncalf) and Clan Capadocious. Both declare war on each other, with Capadocious single-handedly decimating The Travellers.
- The more militant Blackhaven, led by Mooncalf, is born from the remnants of The Travellers, declaring war on Clan Capadocious once more. Blackhaven is joined by notorious pires road_wytch and Pandemona.
- The “Age of Fortresses” begins with vampires huddling into city squares, “bluing” them out in order to keep from being bitten.
- The neutral Clan de Beljeferon is founded by none other than… you guessed it, Beljeferon. Till this day, they’ve remained just as unexciting.
2003
January
- The “Clone Wars” begin. (Players start registering multiple vampires to attack others and claim more territory.)
- Mooncalf figures out a way to break into the Capadocian fortresses (a bug in the code was discovered which allowed him to enter blued squares – later became the power “Surprise”) and attacks Capadocious and his queen Battilion.
- The guilds arrive, offering the powers of Stamina, Shadows, Thievery and Locate.
February
- The clone wars end with Raven Black enacting severe penalties for players caught cheating.
- Shops spring up, offering Vials of Holy Water and Scrolls of Turning. These new shops move every 24 hours in order to keep their purpose and whereabouts unknown to the humans. With these new weapons, Clan Capadocious attacks Blackhaven fortresses. Blackhaven retaliates, seriously wounding Battilion. A cease-fire is issued shortly after.
- The Freedom Trade Alliance is born for the purpose of sharing information about the city, including information about the powers, guilds and shops.
- BloodSpawn joins Clan Capadocious.
- Cerridwen is sired by Dirktou.
- AstaTheBroken and der Tote are wed.
- Pandemona opens Notte Scura, the first club for exclusive VIP vampires.
March
- The first city newspaper, the Vampire News Network, is born.
- Mooncalf steps down as leader of Blackhaven, many of his members leaving to join Clan Capadocious.
- Capadocious splits his clan into four houses with four leaders; Heimdag's House of Heimdag, Morganafq leading the Mists, Sodakk leading the House of Sodakk, BloodSpawn leading the Church of Blood, and Euphoric Lust and emily lang leading the Draconian Corps.
- The Assassin’s Guild is formed and Cap’s queen Battilion is zeroed by AG members Dirktou and Will der Bauer, probably on the order of Mooncalf.
- The cease-fire between Capadocious Clan and Blackhaven ends with a Blackhaven assault. Cap members BloodSpawn and UnicornDream are zeroed. Capadocious responds by zeroing Blackhaven’s leaders, himself nearly zeroed in the process.
- Capadocians Lucius and ophelia are wed.
- Creperum, daughter of Beljeferon, is wed to Andronicus and they form “The Empire”.
- The Ferrymen form under Lucius and become the Capadocian information house.
- Necromancers spring up in the city’s magic shops.
April
- The Graveyard is constructed to honor players who’ve died.
- Battilion leaves Clan Capadocious and forms the Amazon Blood Clan for females only.
- The Bad Name Campaign is started to eliminate all vampires with stupid names.
- The Church of Blood is formed as a house within Clan Capadocious, led by BloodSpawn. The CoB then declares war on The Empire, which quickly disbands.
- Capadocious is voted prince of RavenBlack City by the members of RBB.
- The Church of Blood begins planning an assault on RavenBlack himself. Morganafq is given the boot for her objections to the CoB’s plans. Many from her house follow.
- The Immolators Guild begins offering the power of “Suction”.
May
- Capadocious zeroes der Tote for being the companion of AstaTheBroken (yes, seriously).
- UnicornDream leaves Clan Capadocious and becomes the leader of Blackhaven.
- Capadocious decides he can better lead the city with no clan alignment so he disbands his clan.
- The Church of Blood continues as planned and attacks RavenBlack. RB
sympathizers, including
UnicornDream, CHASS and Shadowbat, rush to the defense of the city's maker, attacking the CoB. - The Travellers Guild arrives in the city, offering the power of Celerity.
June
- The city begins to reject the idea of a prince and Capadocious quickly loses support.
- Creperum takes control of The Empire.
July
- Capadocious rebuilds his clan, calling it the Capadocian Dynasty. Many of his former members return, including Lucius and the whole of Ferrymen. Capadocious then begins the infamous “Join or Die” campaign, consuming almost all in his path and heavily crippling The Empire.
- Dirktou forms clan Ellende and aligns with the Dynasty.
- Archangel creates the Night Watch, whose purpose is to guard the neutral zoned graveyard from disrespectful acts.
- Capadocious asks his political attackers who they will have as prince, if not him. A poll is opened once more at the RBB and Capadocious is voted prince, again.
August
- The Dynasty zeroes road_wytch.
- The Peacekeepers’ Missions arrive, offering the power of Neutrality.
- Lucius begins his now legendary series of “Lucius’ Little Truths”.
- A conspiracy within the Cap Clan sends many of its most prized leaders out to form the Shadow Court. Among the leaders to leave are Vampire B, Lucius and Dirktou.
- Clan Archangel is born.
September
- Clan Mooncalf is born. (David -Mooncalf- trains the clan to become the biggest group of cheaters to ever plague the game.)
October
- Cerridwen joins Capadocious as princess of his clan. She leaves shortly after to form the Towers of Blood.
November
- The House of Heorot is born, led by AQelDroma.
2004
January
- The Shadow Court attacks the Towers of Blood, zeroing Cerridwen and Adreadia.
- Capadocious is zeroed in by a large, collective force of vampires from numerous clans. The Dynasty comes to an end.
- Mooncalf steps down (what else is new?) as leader of Clan Mooncalf and hands it over to DeathReaper who in turn, hands it over to RavenesQue. She renames the clan, “Clan of the Dark Raven”.
February
- The Travellers Guild begins offering Telepathy.
April
- RavenBlack showers the city in blood. Weaker vampires wake up with 2,000 BP. Those over 2k are given an extra thousand BP. (Accidental error while RB was editing the code to better deal with cheaters.)
May
- Clan Archangel becomes the largest clan in the city’s existence, its membership reaching well over 400. This, to date, remains the clan’s only accomplishment.
- Blackhaven begins attacks on EvilBill.
- RavenBlack raises the Hall of Severance. Soon after, the Hall of Binding is also raised.
- Flowers and diamond rings are now offered in shops across the city.
July
- Dark Mooncalf, formerly Mooncalf, joins Clan of the Dark Raven which disbands shortly thereafter. RavenesQue is consumed by Shadows, locked deep inside of her castle for fear of her former companion Death’s Kiss and his compatriots.
October
- The Allurists Guild begins offering Charisma.
- Garlic Spray is introduced as another weapon along with the Scroll of Displacement.
November
- Kindred begin showing up staked all across the city. Rumors of hunters begin to lurk.
December
- Blood Chat is introduced to the city as possibly Raven Black's biggest mistake ever.
2005
January
- Lucius steals the keys to the Halls of Capadocious and gives them to Creperum.
- The Ferrymen break from the Shadow Court, which crumbles shortly after.
- Bags of coins and other objects begin appearing sporadically throughout the city.
February
- EvilBill, now the leader of the Church of Blood, announces his clan will no longer interact with the rest of the city.
- BloodSpawn begins attacking the Sun Clan for giving their clan such a stupid name.
March
- ophelia severs Lucius for EvilBill.
- Lucius leaves for “The Dreaming” and is Dead and Buried.
- Capadocious starts selling life insurance to vampires.
April
- The Alliance of Light, a coalition of rejects, begin attacks on clans they believe are evil and “unworthy”. HoH quickly puts an end to that by zeroing AoL members SpiritLioness, Eripmav, xorf and FOEHAMMER.
- Scrolls of Succour are now offered in the city shops.
- The Allurists Guild begins offering Perception.
June
- The Ferrymen zero gargamel.
- Capadocious declares war on TIC for attacking a member of Caps.
- The Sanctuary of Immortal Enlightenment is formed by Hesu and former members of the now defunct Clan Archangel.
October
- RavenBlack, in sheer generosity, gives everyone in the city 100,000 coins. (Oops, another glitch in the code. TIC makes mad coinage from the incident because of their large amount of clones.)
November
- The Ferrymen begin attacks on the Church of Blood, zeroing UnicornDream after the CoB discovers Damari is a spy and boots her. How that makes any sense, I’ll never know.
- The Ferrymen is decimated by an alliance between The Inner Circle, the Shadow Court and the Church of Blood.
December
- Lucius, drawn by the beauty of the lovely Damari, leaves The Dreaming and binds to her.
2006
January
- Archangel has a geek attack and claims ownership of the Halls of Binding and Severance. Unless they pay a fee, AA displaces any who enter the halls.
- The Grimoire is born.
- The Peacekeepers’ Missions begin offering BattleCloaks.
February
- evilive_inc challenges Lucius to a duel to the death. Lucius wins.
March
- The CoB attacks SIE and is completely decimated, the entire clan disbanding afterwards with UnicornDream setting the church ablaze.
April
- Gyllenstierna, House of Heimdag, wars against the Capadocians, the Ferrymen and HoH. The war ends with an agreement signed by both sides.
November
- After exchanging Holy Waters with ladypeacek, the Warriors of Eternity are completely decimated by the Enforcers of Enlightenment, led by Hesu and Seyda for "target practice".
2007
March
- Sprint Potions are now offered in the city shops.
May
- Scrolls of Accounting are now offered in the city shops.
